Compost In The City: Here’s What This Start-Up Did

How these Austin, Texas cyclists have changed the way citizens think of trash
Instead of dumping 1.3 billion tons of food leftovers, a group of young people in Austin, Texas, decided to take things in their hands.
They united together with Compost Pedallers in order to start delivering the food waste to farmers instead of leaving it to rot in huge waste piles.
The general idea is that waste will be transported (by Compost Pedallers) to farmers, who are partners of the company. In this way, organic matter will no longer be wasted, but in fact used for composting purposes.
Such initiatives should be a lesson for other local communities too, and will hopefully inspire other people to take the matter in their hands.
