Should Schools Have Gardening Programs?

Exposure to ideas is important, especially for children. What will they gain being exposed to gardening?
Not all exposure is good for children, but learning life skills, how to communicate and interact with others, etc. are important aspects to “expose” kids to.
Many people follow a career after some form of “exposure” to the specific field, which generally lead to a passion being developed.
Not exposing people (and kids) to ideas and concepts will lead to a poorer, more one dimensional society.
The question is, with so much to “expose” kids to, should a gardening program be part of it?
